Kaiwi Loui finished second in the under-18 division of the 2026 Maui to Molokai, 26 miles across the Pailolo Channel in fierce trade-wind conditions. The mast he shares a name with, the KAIWI, was the mast of the 2025 Hawaiian series; the next generation is already on the podium.
