Luke: We were recently in Hawaii shooting for the launch of the new AXIS ART V2 foil range, with a great crew including Gabi Bella, Dylan Bez, Britt Ayers, and Perth Standlick. On this particular day, we decided to head to the south shore, hoping to escape the winds of Maui. We stumbled upon a fun beach break, framed by the towering West Maui Mountains in the background. Unfortunately, the weather was mostly overcast, and the waves began to slow down. But we held out hope for that signature magic light this region is famous for. Just as the sun was setting, it broke through the clouds for a brief 60 seconds, giving us the perfect opportunity to capture one last shot. It’s moments like these that make these trips unforgettable.

The contrast in two sports and their respective gnar factors is made pretty clear in this shot of Matt Davies out front at Mākaha... Safe to say few are watching the golf while this ride plays out. Photo: Craig Brokensha
