Introduction
Foil your way pages 2-3
From that first flight across a lake or harbour with a hand wing, or that initial lift off on a wave or behind a boat or ski, you’re hooked.
Flying. Fast and free. Smooth and quiet. There’s no other feeling like it.
And whether you foil across a number of water sports or prefer to focus your progression on one, AXIS will be with you every step of the way. Our range of masts, foils and fuselages is both extensive and inter-changeable, making it easy to maximise enjoyment and performance in your chosen foiling mode.
In every corner of the globe, passionate foil enthusiasts have discovered AXIS. They tell us our advanced foil design, precision engineering and stiffness of each connection point has enabled them to take their foiling to the next level, and the next.
While we’re proud to have helped fuel these trail blazers’ passion for foiling, now they inspire us. Every day the feedback and ideas flow in from wake thieves in America’s lake country, prone foilers in Western Australia, SUP foilers in California or wingers in the islands and canals of Europe. These diverse inputs ensure our design and innovation process never stops or narrows in focus. After all, we want as many people in as many places as possible, to share our passion of foiling.
Our New Zealand based design team of engineers, marine architects, foil scientists and board designers is led by Adrian Roper. Internationally renowned windsurf, kitesurf and now foil innovator with more than 40 years of design and manufacturing experience. He oversees an agile process of feedback, computer aided design and testing that sees new concepts and range additions taken to the beach virtually every week. After initial validation by the design group, the new design is then distributed among a wider rider team led by AXIS’ boss, Evan Mavridoglou, for feedback. And not just advance level riders either, because at the heart of the AXIS design philosophy, is that our equipment must be easy to ride as well as high performance. By the time an AXIS product reaches your retail store, you know it will be good.
Front wings
Foil design basics, Surge pages 4-5
This guide is designed to help explain the key variables in hydrofoil design. It will also help you better understand the design specifications of the AXIS range on the following pages.
Chord: The width of the foil (90 degrees to the span). There is maximum chord and mean average chord. Maximum chord is the widest part of the chord normally at the middle of the wing, the mean average chord is the average chord over the entire wing. Span divided by mean average chord gives you the aspect ratio.
Thickness: How thick the foil is, normally expressed as a percentage of the chord.
Foil section: This refers to actual cross sectional shape and curve of the foil, i.e. is the front portion blunt or sharp? Where is the point of maximum thickness? This will have a huge bearing on the lift the foil produces and the speed range it will perform in without ‘stalling’ (when the water flow dis-engages from the foil surface causing you to crash back down).
Camber: Camber is a key element of the foil section. Unlike centre fins on surfboards, the cross section of hydrofoils is not symmetrical – the resulting pressure difference as water flows around the foil is what creates upward lift. The degree of this asymmetry is called the camber. The more camber, the more lift a foil will generate. However camber also increases drag.
Area: The total surface area of the foil. While the industry has made area the key variable with which foils are compared, for us it is no more important than the other design characteristics featured above. The performance of a hydrofoil is determined by how ALL these variables combine together. For example, it is totally possible to have a foil with less area than another to produce greater lift if the thickness and camber are greater.
The AXIS Surge reclaims the raw, connected feel of real surfing. The Surge reinvents the category, shattering the old trade-offs that held surf foiling back.
Drop in and feel it ignite. Load up your back foot and feel the drive. Surge answers instantly, knifing through the pocket with a shortboard attitude. The rail to rail transition is smooth and predictable, lay it over and release your wingtips with confidence. Surge boasts effortless pumping, green- lighting you to link sections and connect multiple waves like never before. It’s fluid, locked-in, and alive under your feet.
The AXIS Surge’s range is flat-out staggering, arming you with low-end torque that turns mushy, knee-high slop into a foil playground, letting you stall deep in the pocket, hit whitewater, and easily pump back to the lineup for another lap. When you wind it up, you’ve got explosive speed and unshakable control giving you confidence to send it over the ledge on those outer reef freight trains.
This is the freestyle and wave weapon you’ve been begging for. Whether you’re throwing it around in freeride mode or chasing bombs on the wing with the throttle pinned, Surge unleashes buttery smooth rail transitions, explosive pop and a locked-in feel that screams “SEND IT!”
Para-wingers, LET’S GO! Get ready to appreciate the huge range offered by the Surge, its signature low end grunt allows early flight and easy planing, and top end efficiency enabling those big upwind tacks and downwind voyages.
Pair it with our recently released Surf Skinny Rears for the perfectly balanced blend of speed, power and flow.
Tempo, Fireball pages 6-7
The Tempo foil range is not a simple upgrade - it’s a revolution and a brand-new approach to foil riding. As we push the boundaries of higher aspect ratios and lower volumes, we’ve discovered that greater hydrodynamic efficiency is required through the entire system. AXIS has designed Tempo from the ground-up alongside an innovative titanium fuselage that’s both easy to fit and extremely rigid in construction and connection. We call it Ti Link.
Designed for riders who demand more than performance, this is the strongest connecting system we’ve ever built. It’s stiffer, sleeker and faster – and fully compatible with the Aluminium, Power Carbon and Ultra Pro masts.
At its core, Tempo integrates Ultra-High Modulus carbon fibre with the aerospace-grade titanium of Ti Link to achieve a balance of ultra-rigidity and lightweight responsiveness. The result is a more intuitive system that feels smoother with less drag. It gives riders new ways to experience the seascape, while discovering new lines that previously didn’t exist.
Don’t let the numbers scare you – the Tempo range is surprisingly accessible despite the relatively low surface areas. It’s suited to intermediate foilers seeking progression, as well as advanced riders who demand the extraordinary. For those ready to push harder, fly faster and redefine the limits of their sport, Tempo is the ultimate weapon.
Tempo foils utilise the Ti Link system, which features four dedicated rear wings in the Link Skinny range.
The key to the unique performance of the AXIS Fireball foil range is its all- new high-lift/low-drag foil section, with outlines featuring aspect ratio 13 and ULTRA high modulus carbon construction.
Fireball front wings are high performance foils that are very easy to use, with great stability across a broad (and higher) speed range.
ULTRA high modulus carbon construction, these thin, skinny, super high-aspect foils demand the stiffest construction, allowing you to extract every ounce of performance out of the foil section from tip to tip.
Aspect Ratio (AR) 13 - super high aspect design - promotes reduced drag, allowing you to pump faster and with more forward projection than ever before, you can run with swells, go up and over easier and chase down bumps in front of you.
Our high-lift, low-drag Fireballs have incredible lift and carry, simply refusing to stall where other foils would have dropped out long ago. This unique lift and carry design allows you to get flying earlier, and with less effort. Dreaded touchdowns can now be pumped out of with relative ease.
Overall Increased efficiency means advanced riders will be able to reduce foil area substantially, so you can conserve energy gain in speed and range while completing longer runs. You can choose a slightly reduced span, or ride approximately 200cm² less surface area than previously with the Fireball range.
The Fireball’s foil section is very pitch stable which allows riders to drop down one or two Skinny rear wing sizes. This further increases speed and reduces drag.
Fireball foils are ideally matched with our Black Advance+ fuselage and Skinny rear wing ranges.
ART V2, Spitfire pages 8-9
The AXIS ART v2 is a brand-new foil series that sits between the AXIS Spitfire and ART PRO wing ranges, offering the perfect blend of the Spitfire’s powerful smooth carving, and the ART PRO’s low-drag glide and speed. The ART v2 is a High Aspect wing sporting an Aspect Ratio of ~10 across the series, fitting perfectly between the Spitfire (average 7.5 AR) and the ART PRO (12+ AR).
Wingers, whether you are free riding, wave riding or just chasing the ultimate in efficient cruising, you will love the speed, balance, stability, turning and carving of the ART v2 in all wind and water conditions. And if you are into freestyling, the ART v2 is reinforced with Ultra High Modulus carbon for extra rigidity and strength.
8 9 prone, SUP, winging, wake, downwind, lake pumping and kite foiling disciplines. They do it all.
Sharing the Spitfire’s multitalented DNA, the ART v2 is also the wing that will give wing foilers the confidence to use it in other foiling disciplines such as prone, downwind, SUP, FoilDrive (FD), windsurf, wake or kite. It’s a front wing that excels at winging, and also holds its own in every other foiling discipline.Notes from our design team:
The AXIS ART v2 is a foil that retains great glide and pump due to its span (like an ART PRO), while the reduced area in the tips allows us to retain the looser predictable turning characteristics of a much smaller wing. (similar to the Spitfire)
We achieved that by using a very tapered outline, we reduced the second moment of area for roll, and worked to achieve a perfectly elliptical span-wise lift distribution.
We have strategically reinforced the ART v2 with military-grade Ultra High Modulus carbon in addition to our existing layups creating a stronger connection between the wing and the fuselage, which provides quicker response, better performance and additional strength.
ART V2 foils are ideally matched with our Progressive or Skinny rear wing ranges and our Black Advance + fuselage range.
Imagine a dedicated surf foiling wing, that lets you foil waves like a surfer would. If you’re anything like us, you’ve been dreaming of an effortless turning wing, that inspires confidence when dropping in, that has a gentle, predictable easy lift up onto foil.
A foil that not only handles breaches but encourages them. No wave is the same, sometimes you need a turn of speed, and on another you need to slow right down but stay on foil. A wing you can just forget about and get on with the business of enjoying yourself. Of course, that wing has to be capable of pumping you back out to do it all again and again.
Meet the AXIS Spitfire. You’ll recognise it by its distinctive elliptical outline, straight median line and lack of aggressive turndown through the tips. Moderate chord lengths, that taper smoothly from the centre to the tips, encourage smooth, predictable but precise turning. Reduced foil thickness for enhanced top end to compliment the greater chords providing easy low end. Many of these attributes are shared by the ARTPRO Range of wings, and in fact much of what we learned in the development of that line fed into the Spitfire’s make-up.
Spitfire foils are ideally matched with our Black Advance fuselage and Progressive or Skinny rear wing ranges.
PNG V2, SES packages pages 10-11
The completely reimagined PNG 1300v2 now runs on our Black fuselage series (we recommend our latest Black Advance+ range).
The AXIS PNG 1300v2 boasts low stall speeds, lower drag, better acceleration, better turning and a significantly higher top-end speed – thanks to its finely tuned High Camber (High- lift) / Low-drag foil section.
The 1300 v2 has reduced surface area (1632 sq cm) compared to the previous PNG 1300 (1712 sq cm), but with the addition of its new foil section, it achieves the same capacity for early lift.
Vastly improved turning and a balanced lift distribution ensure a smooth, stable and comfortable ride, with predictable pitch control that makes navigating between bumps and pumping a breeze.
This stability is crucial for light wind or novice downwinders, offering a more agile manoeuvrable experience than the original PNG 1300. We’ve also extended its glide range, for unlocking new distances and manoeuvres when pumping flat water. You’ll be amazed at how much further you can glide between pumps without losing speed or height.
All these features make the AXIS PNG 1300v2 an amazing addition for dock starters, of all levels. The lower drag, improved glide and reduced stall speed are fantastic for those who are progressing and have found that the bigger slow wings are just not much fun anymore.
Use the PNG 1300v2 for SUP/ Prone surfing when in smaller or lower energy surf. The amount of lift that the wing creates to get you moving and stay up on micro-waves is astounding.
And let’s not forget that the AXIS PNG 1300v2 transforms what’s possible for some of the lightest winds while winging. The new AXIS PNG 1300v2 will get you flying before others and start enjoying again ultra light wind winging.
PNG V2 foils are ideally matched with our Progressive or Skinny rear wing ranges.
As the name suggests, our new SES complete package is super easy to get started on, and it’s even easier on your wallet with its innovative core and fibreglass front wing construction.
A new concept from AXIS, the SES package is perfect for cost conscious learners, schools or riders who want one simple setup that works. And since it’s AXIS, high quality of manufacturing, smart engineering and modularity are inherited in the SES packages’ DNA.
The SES package is no slouch either. Drawing on the proven performance and easy turning of our BSC range, the SES has a slightly reduced aspect ratio for even easier and smoother lift. The SES wings have rounder tips for safety and ease of use.
Each package comes with its own front wing size: The 1040 for riders over 80kgs and the 940 for lighter riders, and the 840 for very light riders and children. Completing the SES package is our famously stiff 75cm aluminium 19mm mast and mast base, a stainless steel bolt and tool pack. Our 19mm doodad for superior mast to fuselage connection.
SES packages ship with matched rear wings, SES 1040 and 940 ship with the 440/90 and the Red Standard fuselage, and the SES840 are equipped with the 400/90 and the Red Short fuselage. The packages
Of course you can upgrade to a longer mast or any AXIS foil components, compatible with the AXIS red fuselage and 19mm mast, as your skills progress.
SES is particularly suited for wing foiling but also great for Wake, SUP, plus Prone surfing and Pumping (with the smaller size front wing).
Rear wings
Rear wings pages 12-13
Our research team is constantly exploring the subtleties of rear wing design and the difference even small changes can make to performance and handling.
Masts
Carbon masts pages 14-15
Recent development in foil design and performance (high aspect ratios and broader spans) demand stiffer, more direct and positive connections than current masts deliver.
Bend (lateral distortion) and twist/torsion (rotation around the mast’s length or torque axis) compromise connection, control, speed and ultimately the hydrodynamic efficiency of your hydrofoil’s potential. The stiffer the mast, the better the connection to the foil system and more importantly the untapped potential of high- performance foil designs can be fully realised.
AXIS Power Carbon - High Modulus addresses these challenges, delivering bend resistance that is superior to the stiffest Alloy masts combined with next-level torque axis resistance. (Surpassing the stiffness of our 19mm Alloy mast which is the market stiffness benchmark)
The result is a positive connected feel, direct drive, immediate feedback and ultimate control. High aspect foils perform as they should, feel and control enter an entirely new realm.
The new High Modulus Carbon fibre used in our mast layup is considerably stiffer and stronger than the regular carbon fibre used in conventional constructions. Innovative, considered and balanced placement of materials in our proprietary production process paired with rigorous testing has delivered a breathtaking performance leap.
Opting for a one-piece design, we avoided the flow/drag and jointing issues associated with multi-part mast constructions.
AXIS Power Carbon Mast works perfectly with our complete range of foils, we believe every foiling discipline will benefit from unparalleled bend and twist resistance built into our new Power Carbon masts.
Available in three models, the Power Carbon and Power Carbon - High Modulus which goes even further to provide additional strength and 35% more bend resistance for ultimate performance for the decerning and heavier riders on the broadest of front foils.
Power Carbon Fatty, With wing spans pushing into the 1500 range and beyond, we set out to create a mast that could handle the loads, deliver unshakable stiffness and maintain the smooth, precise feel AXIS riders expect.
This is the ultimate big rider (200lbs/95kg) platform for all their foiling disciplines.
The Kaiwi mast is a pure performance mast designed to minimize drag and maximize glide efficiency for downwind racing, pump foiling, and prone foiling. With more than a year of development behind it, its capabilities are beyond doubt, having already topped international podiums across all three disciplines.
By optimizing for smaller- span wings and lighter riders, the Kaiwi achieves an exceptionally low-drag profile that larger, stiffer masts simply cannot match.
Designed for wings up to 100 cm in span (excluding the Tempo) and riders weighing 85 kg or less, it represents a no-compromise approach to delivering maximum efficiency for those who demand the highest levels of performance.
An in-depth analysis of both hydrodynamics and structural loading led the R&D team to optimize every aspect of the mast’s geometry and material stiffness. What began as a project to create the world’s most efficient downwind race mast soon proved to have much broader appeal, with its exceptional efficiency benefiting any rider seeking less drag, improved glide, and greater control, provided they fall within the recommended weight range and use foils with a span under 100 cm.
While our Ultra Pro and Fatty masts deliver superior stiffness and enhanced control for heavier riders and larger-span wings, neither can match the efficiency and minimal drag that make the Kaiwi so effective in glide- dominated disciplines. For riders focused on maximizing glide, maintaining speed, and extracting every ounce of performance from their foil, the Kaiwi sets a new benchmark.
Aluminium masts, base, Doodad pages 16-17
Originally developed through countless hours of computer analysis and engineering, the AXIS Aluminium Mast achieves a 2.24 x improvement in stiffness compared with many other aluminium masts and even remains stiffer than many carbon masts available on the market today.
For 2026, we’ve taken that proven platform even further. The mast now integrates seamlessly with the redesigned base plate through a new tapered mast bevel and split, cross stabilising bolt. This creates an even more rigid connection, increasing overall system stiffness while improving strength and long term durability.
The result is a direct, solid and predictable feel on the water, particularly through manoeuvres. This combination of stiffness, control and predictability makes the Aluminium Mast an excellent choice for beginner and intermediate riders, while delivering the performance experienced riders expect from the AXIS system.
Each mast is internally sealed to prevent water ingress, avoiding unnecessary weight gain while helping protect against internal corrosion.
The affordability of aluminium also makes it practical to own multiple mast lengths for different foiling disciplines, conditions and locations, or simply to move to a longer mast as your riding progresses. Thanks to the modular AXIS system, changing mast lengths is quick and easy. Using the appropriate AXIS Doodad, the 2026 Aluminium Masts are compatible with every fuselage system in the AXIS range, including the new FATTY system, which requires the dedicated FATTY Doodad.
The 2026 AXIS Aluminium Masts are also backwards compatible with previous-generation 19 mm AXIS base plates and Doodads.
Check out our Stainless Steel and Titanium Screw Sets for compatible hardware.
The 2026 AXIS Aluminium Mast Base Plate has been re- engineered from the ground up, improving on what was already an industry leading design.
CNC machined from a single, solid, billet of aircraft grade aluminium, the new base plate delivers increased stiffness and durability while reducing unnecessary weight all wrapped up in a BLACK anodised coating that will survive the rigors of both salt and freshwater riding.
The bevelled mast pocket now features a tapered profile, increasing lateral stiffness while removing material where it isn’t needed, a split, cross-stabilising bolt exquisitely faired into the bevel further strengthens the mast to base plate connection, helping maintain a solid, precise fit and improving long term durability.
The rear section of the bevel has also been re-designed with a smoother, less aggressive edge for improved safety and easier handling.
Overall plate width has been reduced, allowing it to fit neatly inside trench-style foil boards, particularly the AXIS Pocket Trench and additional mounting holes provide direct attachment options for your Foil Drive or other compatible foil-assist system.
The 2026 AXIS Aluminium Mast Base Plate is supplied with mounting screws.
The 2026 AXIS Doodad is the critical connection between AXIS Aluminium Masts and Black Series Fuselages, forming one of the key structural components of the system for maximum stiffness and strength.
The redesigned Doodad features additional support legs that increase the overall lateral stiffness while significantly reducing torsional loads and internal stresses on the mast sidewalls. The result is a stronger, more rigid connection between the mast and fuselage.
The drop on Doodad fairing spreads the loads more effectively between the mast and fuselage reducing point loading at the connection. Its tapered profile also draws on lessons learned during the development of our Ultra HM and Kaiwi masts, improving water flow around the mast to fuselage junction to reduce both turbulence and drag.
The 2026 Doodad is available for both Standard Black Series Fuselages and the FATTY Fuselage system.
Foil Drive Integrated masts pages 18-19
The Foil Drive Integrated Mast isn’t just an evolution of the aluminium version – it’s the premium expression of what Foil Assist can be. Built from advanced carbon composites in both High Modulus and Ultra High Modulus variants, this system blends strength, efficiency and simplicity into one sleek package. With the Motor Pod positioned 15cm below the baseplate, riders enjoy cleaner hydrodynamics and ample mast length free of drag – creating the smoothest, most intuitive Foil Drive experience yet.
Around the Motor Pod, we’ve expanded the chord and reinforced the cavity with a denser carbon layup, delivering additional torsional strength. Add to that a redesigned baseplate with a slimmer fit to the Foil Drive chassis, and you’ve got an 800mm mast that’s stronger than ever before. With all cables routed inside, the result is a setup that looks clean, rigs fast and feels rock solid under your feet.
This is the premium expression of Foil Assist – a mast that blends AXIS carbon innovation with Foil Drive’s groundbreaking technology. From SUP foilers looking for easy paddle-ups to advanced riders chasing unbroken swells offshore, the Integrated Mast makes progression simple and performance natural.
New for Autumn 2026, the Power Carbon FATTY Integrated E-Foil Mast joins our already popular HM and Ultra HM Carbon Integrated Mast range, bringing a new level of stiffness, control and integration to powered foiling.
E-foiling opens a huge range of possibilities, from flat water cruising and learning to carve a surf-foil to racing or simply exploring when there’s no wind or swell. Whether you’re taking your first flights or pushing performance at speed, the FATTY Integrated E-Foil Mast is designed to make powered foiling smoother, simpler and more predictable.
The low motor position provides uninterrupted thrust and consistent power delivery, giving beginners the confidence to learn while providing experienced riders with the response and control needed to push harder.
E-foil systems place significantly greater loads on the mast due to the additional weight of the system, battery and the low position of the motor pod, the FATTY platform has been engineered specifically to manage these loads, delivering a level of stiffness and control previously difficult to achieve.
Exceptional lateral and torsional stiffness keeps the foil composed and predictable, regardless of how hard or fast you push it, the size of the wing you choose, or the weight and ability level of the rider.
Integrating the power cable internally also creates a significantly cleaner and lower- drag solution than externally mounted systems with long exposed cables. Less drag, less clutter and less hassle, with a streamlined setup designed from the outset for powered foiling.
The 2026 Power Carbon FATTY Integrated E-Foil Mast is supplied with integrated cable but the Foil Drive unit and motor are NOT supplied with this mast.
Fuselages
Fuselages pages 20-21
All AXIS Fuselage now ship with all the screws you need to attach your favourite wings and mast, these are pre-lubed, ready to ride straight out of the bag.
Looking to push harder, carve tighter and unlock the most responsive ride in the Black range? The Advance+ was developed for riders demanding maximum agility, tighter turning radii and a more direct connection to their foil.
With the mast positioned 60 mm further forward than the original Black Standard fuselage and 40 mm further forward than the Advance 20, the Advance+ moves the foil’s pivot point closer to the front wing. The result is faster turn initiation, smoother rail-to-rail transitions and a more lively, surf-oriented feel. Much like moving the fins forward on a surfboard, the foil feels more willing to change direction and respond instantly to rider input.
The Advance+ also delivers increased torsional stiffness, particularly noticeable when pumping or riding larger-span wings where precise control and immediate response are critical.
Why doesn’t everyone ride the Advance+? The same characteristics that make it feel highly reactive and connected can also make it feel more sensitive in pitch. Riders focused on progression, stability or predictable tracking may prefer the more balanced nature of the Advance 20. The Advance 20 also offers greater yaw stability, requiring less rider input to maintain a locked-in feel when cruising, learning or covering distance.
Compatible with all foils utilizing the BLACK connection system, the Advance+ features our integrated zinc anode to help reduce corrosion. All required hardware is supplied pre- installed with Tef-Gel applied, making it ready to ride straight out of the included protective bag.
Note: Moving the mast forward effectively increases the amount of fuselage behind the mast. Riders switching from an Advance 20 to an Advance+ should generally consider reducing fuselage length by one size to maintain a similar overall feel.
The new Advance 20 Fuselage refines something we have known for years, the position of the mast on the fuselage plays a critical role in determining the balance between rider input and foil response.
Positioned 20 mm further forward than our original fuselages (closer to the front wing), the Advance 20 is aimed squarely at riders who prefer a more subtle, controlled, and forgiving feel. It is particularly well suited to those in the earlier stages of their foiling journey, as well as anyone seeking a smoother and less reactive ride.
This mast position generates slightly more front-foot pressure than the Advance + range, generally making it easier to initiate flight. At the same time, the foil becomes less sensitive to small weight shifts, resulting in slower, more predictable pitch response. Combined with improved yaw stability, we end with a foil that feels more locked-in, confidence-inspiring and comfortable across a wide range of conditions.
Riders looking for razor-sharp turning, maximum pumping efficiency, or those regularly using foils with spans significantly greater than 1150 mm will likely be better served by the Advance + range. However, if your priorities are fun, progression, and building confidence on foil, the Advance 20 is designed to help you get there faster.
Built with all of our latest innovations - including zinc anodes, a sleek rear profile, a stronger and more positive mast connection, and M6 front-bolt heli-coils first introduced on the Fatty fuselage - the Advance 20 represents another step forward in both performance and durability. The result is a connection that feels natural and intuitive, from your first successful pump to your longest glide.
Riders wanted to pump further with less energy, to wing in lighter winds and to stretch out their downwind runs in marginal conditions. The answer was to go wider, with higher AR foils that unlocked endless glide and effortless lift. But these wings brought new demands. They needed a platform strong and efficient enough to drive them, without bleeding energy at the connection points. That’s where the Fatty Fuse comes in.
Ultrashort and Psychoshort (just 520mm), the all-new Fatty Fuse was designed hand-in-hand with the Fatty Mast to keep today’s biggest wings locked in and alive underfoot. Wider, stiffer and uncompromising, it delivers the backbone that high-aspect foils demand, so you can chase glide, pump longer and ride with less effort - exactly as we intended when creating the Fatty system.
Every detail has been engineered for reliability where it matters most. The Fatty Fuse brings a major boost in strength and load tolerance to pair seamlessly with our thicker mast profiles, ensuring that even the largest foils remain predictable and responsive. Complete with our sacrificial zinc-anode for lasting durability in harsh conditions, it’s the kind of refinement that keeps you riding longer without thinking twice.
Massive foils no longer mean a compromise in control. With the Fatty Fuse, riders can push into new spans and speeds while holding onto that unmistakable AXIS-level precision. It’s a leap forward in control, stability and confidence, opening the door to truly amazing performance.
Boards
Blast pages 22-23
AXIS Foils have boards for SUP foiling, wing surfing, surf foiling, pump foiling, wake foiling, downwind foiling and kite foiling.
The AXIS Blast winging foil boards are quick to take off with narrower outlines and longer lengths. The narrower width is great for tight turns into the face of swells. We have also changed the deck pad to have raised rails and grooves that allow the water to move off the pad quicker, resulting in better grip and no slippage. Our winging racing crew loves the smaller sizes as they are efficient through the wind. The full Carbon construction, with PVC top and bottom, has longer tracks and is Foil Drive approved. The Blast boards pair well with the newer higher aspect front wings, such as the Fireball and ART v2, as these benefit from the higher take-off speed.
Hybrid, Prone pages 24-25
The AXIS Hybrid is a novel new concept for us, aimed at real world riders who want to enjoy the downwind experience without having to commit to a board dedicated to that purpose.
The hybrid can be used for light wind winging, SUP foiling, downwind and more.
Constructed with EPS cores, full carbon and a tough PVC sandwich layer on the top surface only, these boards are built to be light for optimised performance. A super high density foam block encases the mast tracks and is sandwiched between deck and bottom.
The evolution of the prone boards has been a massive team effort. The previous boards were great, and the new range has taken a big step up with the shape getting tweaked. The biggest change has been the pinched in tail to really help with touch downs through the turns.
The 4’1 at 26L has been a really good choice for those that want a board to use for towing, or smaller rides on the prone.
The range has the same outline all the way through. The prone boards are also great for Foil Drive pairing if you are after a smaller volume.
We have been really loving the bigger size board in the smaller surf to float you over that shallow sand bars.
The smaller sizes have been great for those that are looking for the ultimate prone pump board for the least amount of swing weight and the best feel between your feet and mast.
The new deck pads have also been another big step up. With the new color way to really keep the clean look of the boards.
Mako 2, Mako pages 26-27
A true benchmark for Downwind SUP the Mako introduced a stability and ease of paddle up not seen before in the DW SUP foil world. Shaped by Frank Maffei of Frank Foil boards and tested and refined by some of the worlds finest Downwind SUP foilers, the MAKO 2 raises the bar once again adapting to the constantly changing demands of this sport.
This board is all about subtle refinements and marginal gains that combine to create a significantly improved package, more stability, faster paddling, improved feeling and control over the foil and most importantly, easier take offs on smaller, faster, high aspect foils.
The MAKO 2 features a redesigned nose with slightly more volume carried forward while maintaining the board’s overall balance, this prevents the nose from being pushed underwater during hard paddling, particularly when using smaller front wings. This new nose profile and volume distribution allow the rider to paddle up already standing in the ideal foiling position with no need to move or reposition the feet before take-off.
By refining both the rocker line and bottom shape speed, stability and acceleration have all been improved with a notable bonus being a faster release from the water when starting. The increased stability also provides for a more solid platform allowing stronger, more efficient paddle strokes helping the rider generate the speed needed.
Faster and easier to paddle, with less effort needed to release from the water, the benefits are clear from the first ride especially when launching the small, high-aspect foils used for racing. The new rocker and volume distribution also make touchdowns more forgiving, helping the board recover quickly and smoothly instead of slowing down or catching.
Whilst the improving the physical performance of the board was a goal, improving the rider feeling of control and connection was also a priority. A subtle reduction of thickness under the standing area of the deck provides an improved feeling of connection and directness without sacrificing overall volume and stability needed for paddling and the slight increase in width per size provides more leverage over the foil delivering greater control through the turns and further increases the riders confidence level to be able to push things harder.
The result is a MAKO2 that retains the character of the original but is faster, more stable and easier to paddle up and release — particularly when paired with the latest generation of smaller, faster and higher- aspect foils that are defining the future of Downwind SUP foiling.
Leveraging a revolutionary rocker line designed to increase board speed and effortlessly release from the water surface for extremely smooth takeoffs.
The combination of the rocker line and the rail design makes this board extremely stable. This allows for a reduced board width which is key for increased displacement speed.
The bottom design purpose is to increase acceleration through the water for take offs but also to maintain forgiveness during touch downs at high speeds.
This ability to increase board speed also improves stability due to the fact that the board is navigating at higher speeds through the water engaging the foil that will help balancing on the board.
The extra rocker noticeable on the back of the board ensures that the tail doesn’t catch on the water surface while riding on foil and also it prevents the board from tracking on a straight line too aggressively causing loss of balance.
Our flat deck allows for comfort and direct feel during long downwind runs and it offers a wide area to move the feet around to accommodate the rider’s stance preferences.
Volume is concentrated around the middle of the board which results in an extremely balanced feel wile padding and when on foil.
At the same time the low volume on nose and tail reduces the swing weight making this downwind boards feel much shorter than what they are.
A full carbon construction with high density foam sandwich under the pad is critical for the overall stiffness.
Every bit of energy put into the board will transfer to the foil resulting in maximum efficiency and performance.
All Mako boards ship with a custom fitting board bag designed for ultimate protection and utility, it features a dual zipper system, allowing acess from either side, ventilation, and stow pockets.
This board brings a whole new level of performance to the downwind world and will help riders push their limits in this growing discipline.

Meet the DART, a shorter more playful SUP suited for a large variety of conditions and ability levels.
The main goal was to keep the design as compact as possible while maintaining board speed and ease of take off. I wanted to have a playful board capable of performing in a variety of conditions and easy to travel with
Thanks to its rocker line and bottom contours, the board accelerates effortlessly keeping the take off easy considering the board’s dimensions.
Another important aspect that I kept in mind was stability. Usually shorter boards tend to be less stable, so I changed the bottom shape to be flatter in the standing area and tail, and increased the tail and overall width of the board
With its stubbier design , the DART feels incredibly nimble while flying, allowing for more radical carves, better foil control and it fits better in tighter bumps when downwinding, and in the wave pocket when surfing.
Because of the added width, I was now able to comfortably fit a concave deck to have a more “locked in” feel while riding.
You will find some of the same features from the MAKO such as the vertical rails and extra tail rocker for added stability, and displacement hull in the nose section of the bottom of the board to improve glide and acceleration.
The DART is tailored to short period bumps downwind runs and wave riding but it also works great as a light wind wing or parawing board.
The compact design and wide range of use makes the DART the perfect travel board that will allow you to make the most out of a broad variety of conditions.
This board was designed with parawinging in mind but it will bring a lot of advantages to your wing and prone game.
The fast rocker line makes take offs effortless even in marginal conditions.
The bottom shape changes from displacement hull in the nose section, to flat in the mid to tail section, resulting in great acceleration, release and rebound off the water surface.
Similar to the DART, the wider tail improves stability and offers wider planing surface to generate speed.
The added length and extra volume on the front allows the rider to pump the board on the water to generate forward momentum comfortably without burying the nose. This is a great feature especially for parawinging where pumping the board is a crucial step for a successful takeoff, but also for prone foiling making paddling out to the line up and catching waves easier.
The MINI DART features a concave deck for added responsiveness and a more “locked in” feel while riding, resulting in more confidence when laying down big carves and better control at high speeds.
Wing, parawing or prone, this board does it all and it will excel in a large variety of conditions.
Pocket Trench, Dock pages 30-31
These highly anticipated 50L and 60L boards bring the magic of the AXIS Pocket Trench (patent pending) to foil assist riders of all size and ability level. Rather than simply carving out the base of the board with a bulky trench that disturbs water flow AXIS developed the recessed pocket that allows your Foil Drive to neatly slide inside resulting in greatly reduced drag on take offs and effortlessly smooth touch downs when on motor.
This streamlined approach also led to the development of the bespoke AXIS tracks and sliders, not only the fastest and easiest battery swaps available on a trench board but also allowing the use of custom designed tracks engineered for the exacting demands of modern foiling, not cast offs from the surfboard world better suited to holding a fin in a longboard.
Simply drop, slide and lock into your preferred setup and thanks to the fibreglass reinforcements in the track zone and front deck, the Pocket Trench ensures uninterrupted signal strength from your controller, eliminating the common signal connection frustrations of other full-carbon boards.
All sizes of Pocket Trench are compatible with all models of Foil Drive (Slim, Max and Fusion) however they are not compatible with the softer bottom protection plates that were supplied on Max models with serial numbers between AM-0001 and AM-2300. If you have one of these units contact Foil Drive to ask for the newer stronger board protection plate.
ONLY the AXIS supplied sliders should be used in the Pocket Trench range.
The Dock’s versatile shape is great for dock, wake, kite and more...
The deck has a mellow nose rocker to help with those touchdowns while getting going off the dock and is a great aid in recovering on the pump.
The standing area has a small amount of dish in the deck to distribute your weight evenly to get in the best position to pump to your PB.
Both boards share the same great feel while underfoot with solid stiffness. The width of the board makes it really easy to land your feet on in that critical time.

Foil Drive boards, Tray V5 pages 34-35
The AXIS Foil Drive boards are based on a longer and narrower shape, with a very flat section in the rocker to allow the Foil Drive Gen2 to fit nicely. They run with less drag than a shorter wider board and make it very easy to get up on foil. They have been extensively tested to have a solid signal through the board, so no cutouts between the Foil Drive remote control and controller.
We wanted the AXIS Foil Drive boards to be full carbon, similar to the rest of the AXIS Foilboards. So the contruction is Carbon top and bottom with a PVC sandwich on both sides. This layup makes for a stiff board that gives a direct connection to the foil, while it’s still lightweight and strong. To maximize compatibility with all foil models and riding styles, we added long (32cm / 12.6”) mast tracks.
The TRAY carbon board has always been the ultimate kite foilboard. But our customers started using it for pumping, dock starting and foiling behind the boat.;
The Tray boards are still super thin (at 20mm thickness) and maintain the same reinforced carbon construction.
For the V5 we have borrowed the look from our popular Frank Downwind board range in doing so we have improved its thermal properties, when left baking in the sun for hours (not recommended). The EVA pad covers the complete length of the board, so you can place your feet anywhere your stance requires. And multiple footstrap inserts make the TRAY boards very versatile for strapless or strapped riding. length width volume product code

Foil angles and shims pages 44-45
Demistifying Shims... When and if you need one, and how it all goes together
Let’s start with the front wing, it is normally set at an angle upwards from the fuselage.
The angle is measured from the chord- line of the foil section relative to the main-line through the fuselage. Most of the AXIS front wings are set around 1 degree upwards as this is about the sweet spot for the foil section used. (beginner, or slower foil sections set on a greater angle) More angle up creates more lift more drag, less angle creates less lift less drag. The idea being that the fuselage is as much as possible running at zero degrees through the water when foiling.
Most of the AXIS rear wings are set around 1.5 degrees downwards relative to the main-line of the fuselage. (the lower aspect learner rear wings set at a greater angle down) This creates a force to balance against your front foot pressure so that you can balance on the front wing.
This gives a stock difference between the front and rear wing of 2.5 degrees total. This is the most important number to consider by far. If the rear wing is angled down by an additional 1 degree the difference between the front and rear wing becomes 3.5 degrees and as such should be described as a positive shim as 3.5 degrees is greater than the stock 2.5 degrees. If the rear wing is angled down 1 degree less the difference becomes 1.5 degrees and is should be described as negative shim or minus shimming as the difference between the front and rear becomes less.
Most riders with a weight of around 85kg riding in normal conditions don’t really need or benefit from shimming the rear wing. The foils should ride fine out of the box bolted straight on to the fuselage.
Regarding baseplate shimming, as described above the front wing rides at an angle, this angle is determined by the size of the foil, your weight and the speed that you are going. (there are more details which affect this but generally speaking)
Two riders different weights going the same speed on the same wing, the heavier rider will have a great angle (foil lifted more at the leading edge) to maintain the required lift whereas the lighter rider will ride at a flatter angle.
When you first take off on a foil you will have a greater angle of attack on the front wing to create the required lift and flatten it off as you go faster. You may even be riding at a negative angle of the front wing when really going fast.
All of this you don’t really have to think about as your body adjusts automatically.
If you have too much angle on the front wing it will come up and out of the water. Too small an angle and your board will crash down.
The front wing is bolted to the fuselage and the mast is connected to the fuselage at 90 degrees. The mast is bolted to the baseplate at 90 degrees.
When AXIS builds a board it is generally designed for the 85kg rider (or the correct rider weight for the volume) to use with an AXIS foil in the centre of the finboxes.
The board should feel balanced and ride relatively flat between front and back foot pressure and should not require a base plate shim to correct the angle.
Other brands will mount their boxes at their chosen position for another foil system and angle of the board might not feel quite right.
You can correct this quite easily with a baseplate shim. If you feel or can see watching a video that you are riding nose down or nose up most of the time a baseplate shim is required to correct the angle that the board flys at.
It should feel when you touchdown that the board touches just in front of the baseplate and this helps you pop back up without going off balance. If the angle is not right you will touch down with the nose first or tail first, both resulting in a crash. The baseplate shim can also make the pressure between your feet more comfortable and balanced feeling.
Adding a Positive shim (we call it positive because it is increasing the angle between front and back wing, usually achieved by lifting the back of rear wing) is useful for heavier riders to provide more front foot pressure, can have a slowing effect.
Adding a Negative shim (we call it negative because it is decreasing the angle between front and back wing, usually achieved by lifting the front of rear wing) is useful for lighter riders as it reduces the front foot pressure and can be faster.
Our stock setup with no shim is designed to work for the vast majority of riders.
Beginner or Slower foil sections are set at a greater angle (+2°) Lower aspect learning rear wings can be set greater angle down (- 2.5°)
3.5° If you add a Positive 1° shim the difference increases to
1.5° If you add a Negative 1° shim the difference decreases to
