Pocket Trench

The Pocket Trench pushes the boundaries of Foil Drive integration. Rather than carving out a bulky trench that disturbs the water flow, AXIS engineered a recessed pocket that lets the Foil Drive unit tuck neatly beneath the deck. The result is less drag, smoother hydrodynamics, and a riding position that feels exactly like your regular board, without compromise.

The streamlined approach brings practical benefits too. A narrower, snug-fitting cavity holds the Foil Drive and mast in perfect alignment, and a new one-piece slider T-nut makes set-up quicker and easier than ever: drop, slide and lock into your preferred stance. Fibreglass reinforcement in the track zone and the front deck ensures uninterrupted signal from your controller, ending the frustrations of full-carbon boards.

Built from advanced carbon composites in High Modulus and Ultra High Modulus variants, it blends strength, efficiency and simplicity into one sleek package. With the motor pod 15 cm below the base plate, you get cleaner hydrodynamics and ample drag-free mast length: the smoothest, most intuitive Foil Drive experience yet.

Around the motor pod we expanded the chord and reinforced the cavity with a denser carbon layup for additional torsional strength; with a redesigned base plate that fits the Foil Drive chassis more slimly, the 800 mm mast is stronger than ever. All cables route inside, so it looks clean, rigs fast and feels rock solid underfoot.
