One Hawaii race to go

As the foil world descends on Hawaii for the Koa Kai Triple Crown, some of our AXIS ohana have found themselves in the thick of the action. The Triple Crown is three downwind SUP foil races: the Paddle Imua, the shortest, on Maui's north shore; the Maui to Molokai (M2M); and the big one, the Molokai to Oahu (M2O), a 60 km crossing of the Kaiwi Channel, the "Channel of Bones".

The AXIS team had an amazing day in the Pailolo Channel for the 26-mile M2M. Gabriella Bella took the win in the women's after an incredible battle with Annie Reickert. Perth Standlick from Sydney finished 12th overall. Our favourite Tahitian groms, Toaura and Haunui Haumani, finished 2nd and 3rd in the youth division. Dave Kissane from Australia and Oahu's Brian Tallarico took 2nd and 3rd in the men's over-50s, and Livio Menelau took 2nd in wing foil.

Special mention to all our dedicated riders, who also included Payce Duryea, Lisa Ranson, Kyle Pemberton, Nick Weighall, Tiago Campos, Francesco Maffei, Aaron Levy, Ty Udell, Graeme Cooper and Lyle Johnson. And for the second year running it was great to see Kai Lenny choosing to race on AXIS foils.

The M2O is 33 miles of treacherous ocean, crossing the Kaiwi Channel. We covered as much of it as we could live on Instagram.
