The FATTY system explained: mast, fuselages, Doodad, and what fits what
doodad fatty fireball fuselage mast
The FATTY system was born out of a simple challenge: how do we make foiling easier, longer and more enjoyable, without compromise? Riders wanted to pump further with less energy, to wing in lighter winds and to stretch out their downwind runs in marginal conditions. The answer was to go wider, with higher-aspect foils that unlocked endless glide and effortless lift. But those wings brought new demands. They needed a platform strong and stiff enough to drive them without bleeding energy at the connection points. FATTY is that platform. Here is what it is made of, and what fits what.
The FATTY mast
At 18.5 mm, with a longer chord and a deeper fuselage connection, the FATTY mast is built in Medium Modulus carbon, striking the balance between strength, stiffness and affordability so riders can unlock big-foil performance without compromise. It is the mast that transforms large foils into something playful and controlled: big wings suddenly feel smaller underfoot, with control, connection and stability and no loss of speed or flow.
For riders over 95 kg (200 lb) it is a game-changer, delivering the extra stiffness and leverage needed to handle the torque that comes with big bodies and big wings, in every discipline: winging in open-ocean swell, pumping across docks, chasing long downwinders. Two lengths, 800 mm and 900 mm, each supplied with its base plate.

The FATTY fuselages
Designed hand in hand with the mast, the FATTY Fuse comes in our proven Advance+ lengths: Short (700 mm), Ultrashort (640 mm) and Psychoshort (520 mm). Wider, stiffer and uncompromising, it delivers the backbone that high-aspect foils demand, with a major boost in strength and load tolerance to pair with the thicker mast profile, so even the largest foils remain predictable and responsive.
Every detail is engineered for reliability where it matters: titanium screw inserts, and a sacrificial zinc anode for lasting durability in harsh conditions. It is a Black-series fuselage, so it takes the same front wings and rear wings as the rest of the Black range.

The wings that asked for it
The Fireball 1500 (aspect ratio 17) and Fireball 1750 (aspect ratio 20) were made possible by the FATTY mast and fuselages; spans like these need the stiffness, and other masts flex under them. Paired with FATTY they light up with more drive and response. Big riders on big wings of any family, such as a heavier rider on the PNG V2 1400, get the same benefit.

Update, September 2026: two new ways into the system
The FATTY Doodad puts a 19 mm AXIS aluminium mast onto a FATTY fuselage, so the fuselage and the big wings no longer require the carbon mast to get started. And the Power Carbon FATTY Integrated E-Foil Mast brings the FATTY platform to powered foiling, where the extra weight and the low motor position put more load on the mast than anything else in the sport.

What fits what
- A FATTY mast (80, 90, or the E-Foil 800) fits FATTY fuselages only.
- A FATTY fuselage takes the FATTY mast directly, or a 19 mm aluminium mast through the FATTY Doodad. Other carbon masts do not fit it.
- Front wings: any Black-series front wing. The Fireball 1500 and 1750 are designed around it.
- Rear wings: the standard AXIS rear range.
- Your existing Black fuselages, standard 19 mm masts and Doodads are unchanged; FATTY is an addition to the system, not a replacement.
Massive foils no longer mean a compromise in control. Start at the FATTY mast, or ask your AXIS dealer which pieces your quiver needs.
